Almonzo was seated on the love seat.
“Why are you in here?” she demanded an answer.
“Sit down, Natasha.” His firm voice didn't leave room for an argument. “There's a passage in this journal I think you should hear.”
“I'm perfectly capable of reading without you. Just point it out and consider it read.” She reached for the journal.
“Sit.” He pointed to the chair across from him. “I won't ask twice.”
Somehow, she believed him. She sat.
He began reading from the book of horrors. It was what Natasha silently dubbed the pages he now slowly turned. His features were the same as Orlando's, but there were obvious differences. Almonzo's voice wasn't as deep, and his hair was a tad longer than Orlando's. She was aware of the fact that she didn't feel as comfortable with him as she did with Orlando.
“It is raining outside today. I can hear it. Almost smell it. I can hear so many things here because I've been left alone. No one is in the house with me now, but I am no longer cuffed to the posts, which makes life more tolerable. Someone comes in once every two days to leave food. I am grateful when they do, but they only slide it through a small opening in the door before leaving. I long to talk to someone…anyone…the person on the other side…him.
I've read the pages from so many heartaches, and yet I have forgotten why I resisted the very one I will never deny. He is my destiny. I cannot dictate to Mother Fate another way now, but I do it for an entirely different, if not driven, reason.”
Almonzo must have thought she wasn't paying attention. “Make sure you listen, Natasha.” His voice was stern as he watched her for some sign she was hearing his words before he continued. “I wanted to have control over my life, indulge in the ordinary but never give up fighting for the extraordinary things to make for a better way of life. Then, it hit me, and when it did, I called out to him, but he would not come. I begged the person bringing my food to tell him I knew, but he still did not show his face. Finally, I left a note for him. I realized I had been so scared of leaving my mortal life behind; I didn't stop to realize what a gift I was offered. I was going to be able to live strong and well through numerous generations. I would bring children into the world that would never leave me or I them. It was then that I gave up the ridiculous fight, the war that I had wagered on no one else but myself.”
Almonzo rose, closed the book, and handed it to Natasha. “He only wants to give you the life of a Spenser. Once you see how fortunate you are, I think you'll regret how much time you've wasted getting to know Orlando.”

Armand was angry. He picked up Matilda and threw her over his shoulder before sitting down on the side of the bed. She kicked and screamed the whole time.
“Put me down you stupid Russian blood sucker! Put me down now!” Her hair tangled around her frame as her legs moved wildly. Bare feet moved quickly into his legs while she kneed him repeatedly in the gut.
“I'll tell you what, Darling. Since you want to act like a child, I'll scold you with one lick for every year I've walked on this earth.” He laughed as he watched the muscles in her bottom clench, already anticipating and preparing for a lashing when he flipped her over on his lap.
“You touch me and I'll put a curse of death on you and you'll never be able to finish your happy little stomp here on earth. I'll ruin you for another woman and ruin your ability to pleasure one for eternity. Do you here me?” She paused for a second or two to catch her breath before continuing. “I said let me go!” Her legs kicked out to the side touching nothing at all as Armand's hand massaged her ass through the tight shorts she sported.
“Hmm baby, you have one lovely, plump ass.” He grinned because he knew his words would send her over the edge.
Yelping still, her palms allowed her to push up from the floor to stare at him. “Plump? Are you serious? I have the best fucking ass on this planet you fucking prick!” She kicked again as her arms and waist wiggled and squirmed.
“Then if that's so, I will enjoy this even more than I'd planned.” He slowly pulled her shorts down before pinching her fanny between two fingers.
“Ouch! Stop that! Get off of me! Let me go, now! I am putting a curse on you as we speak!” She slowed her movements and for a second Armand guessed that the little witch was probably trying to come up with something to smite him from the Earth, so he taunted her more.
He slid his hand over her panties and then with a quick pull they were gone. Her bottom was staring up at him, inviting his touch.
“Now, now my pet. Haven't you ever been spanked before?” He smoothed her skin under a ready hand prompted by his own desire to repay her for the trouble she'd caused him.
“No! And you aren't going to be the first!”
His hand came down in rapid beats and he chose to count them out loud. “One, two,” he paused and raised his hand higher. After the abuse she'd dealt him, he wanted it to hurt. “Two again…three, four, five.” He laughed. “Hmm…I'm enjoying this Matilda.” He resisted a bellowing laugh by adding, “I like the fact that I can be the first and only man to ever spank you.”
“Ow shit! Hey! That hurts! Stop!” Matilda screamed through a flood of tears.
“I never break my word Matilda. I came to take you home with me and you will go.” He reared back to slap her ass again. “Five again!”
“Ouch! Stop it! I will curse you to a slow death that will only make you wish for an uninterrupted eternity.” Matilda continued to scream and her threats never ceased. “I will ruin you if I have to cut off your dick and hand it over to your elders.” Her sobbing broke the tortuous screams.

Blurb:
There's something special about Victoria McCoy, and Jonathan Woodwine knows it. She's on his ranch to tame a stallion, but after he sees the woman ride, he wants her for his own. What man wouldn't? She's as wild as the beast underneath her, and proves it when she breaks the horse in record time. Now Jonathan has to find a way to keep her close, because after his eyes have already done the unimaginable to her, he sees little reason to leave his body out.
Excerpt:
Jack took the horses immediately. “Now Victoria, I don't want any lip from you tonight. You're staying here with us.”
Jonathan agreed. “We've already discussed this. Victoria will be staying with us for some time.”
Jack smiled. “Glad to hear it.”
Victoria wheeled around quickly. “We never did anything of the sort!” She marched over to him fast. “Just because you knew my family doesn't give you the right to…”
Jonathan cut her off. “Jack, if you'll excuse us. We'll be in the main house when you finish here.”
Jack beamed before nodding. “I hope it'll still be standing by the time I get up there.”
Jonathan led Victoria up the hill to his home. He pulled her by the wrist as she protested.
“Jonathan! Jonathan! Listen to me! A man can not just drag a woman off to his house and demand that she stay. It isn't right! It isn't proper!” She screamed at him until they reached the porch. “I said let me go!”
Jonathan smiled down on her. “Fine. I'll let you go long enough to do this.” His grin widened and he swooped down fast to pick her up. His left arm slid under her arms and his right cupped her legs.
“What are you doing? Put me down dammit!” Her lips pursed right before they formed a tight line to indicate a fit of pouting would follow.
Jonathan kicked open the door and crossed over the threshold. He marched in the house and up the stairs. He made no mistake, it was a damn march.
“I said put me down!” Her body wiggled and fought against his hold.
“I plan to just as soon as I find the appropriate place.” He smiled at her. “And if you aren't careful, I may do something more than put you down. I may just taste a bit of that anger for myself. It quite becomes you, love.”
“What did you call me? Argh! Last chance to set me down!” She continued her rant.
He walked past his sister's room and straight into his own. Once there, he plopped her on the bed.
Her eyes were wild. “What the hell do you think you're doing?” Seething anger spilled from her eyes and her lips.
“Isn't it obvious?” He watched her with adamant curiosity, a grin forming across his lips.
“You want to fuck me?”
“Watch your mouth Victoria and I won't tell you again. Ladies don't talk like tramps.”
“Well, do you?” She challenged him. “Answer me! Damn you!” Her eyes were fiery. Her yelling became quite distraught.
Jonathan remained calm. “What you've kept under lock and key only belongs to one man. Victoria, I can promise you one thing, I'm not going to take it unless it's mine to have.”
