Sebastian stared at the violin case and then around the room he had been given. He felt like a fool, making a deal with a human all because he was intrigued by the man’s daughter. It wasn’t just the strange growth spurt or intelligence there seemed to be an air of innocence about her that both her parents lacked.
Also, the man, Mr. Humphreys had made him such a wonderful deal he couldn’t say no. He loved the violin and hardly had time to play it while in the sixth dimension, what with all his training to become the next in line to inherit the throne. Sebastian had no desire to rule, it was a lonely job. His father was all alone having sent his mother back to heaven when he realized how miserable she was, despite having the love of her children and every wish and whim granted.
Pulling his thoughts back from his other life he focused on the task at hand. Mr. Humphreys hadn’t wanted a musical ability for himself. He felt that was too suspicious if he suddenly found that he could sing or play an instrument and so he wanted to sponsor someone who could, that person would be Sebastian.
At first Sebastian had been hesitant in taking the deal. But after some thought he decided he wanted to see the human world and explore it to its fullest. Also, this gave him a chance to keep an eye on Lea and play the violin. Now, he found himself living in Mr. Humphreys house one of the only rules, never let Lea see him. At first the rule had been instituted by Sebastian in case anyone questioned his appearance. But now he had a reason to be here. He was curious to know why Mr. Humphreys had decided to implement the rule for the whole time of Sebastian’s stay.
Sebastian walked over to his bed, climbed up on the high mattress and laid down. His thoughts going a mile a minute, after a while, his mind slowed and he realized he needed to contact his brothers. Getting up, he slid off the bed and went to his desk. Pulling out the chair with his mind, he sat down, grabbed a pen and paper and began to write a letter, addressing it to all of his brothers. As much as he would miss them, he needed time for himself.
He wrote out his explanation for his stay in the human world and when he estimated he would be back. Once that was done, he summoned a demonic messenger and sent him on his way. Looking around his room he could feel it in his bones, things would not go as planned but in the end it would all be worth it. His thoughts went to Lea and her situation, one way or another, he vowed to figure out the puzzle that was Lea.
