Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with Mari Carr

Since the summer of 2009, the Collins family, the characters of my latest series, at Ellora’s Cave have been a big part of my life. The idea for the Wild Irish series evolved from the traditional nursery rhyme, Monday’s Child. There are seven siblings in the series and each book reveals the life and romance of one of the Collins clan.

Monday’s child is fair of face. Come Monday introduces the family as well as the eldest daughter, Keira. Since her mother, Sunday’s, death, Keira has assumed the maternal role in the family, caring for her younger siblings. At twenty-seven, she decides it’s time to do something for herself, so she enrolls in college, where she meets sexy English professor, Will Wallace. Sparks fly between the two of them and as their relationship evolves, dominant Will reveals Keira’s secret submissive desires.

Tuesday’s child is full of grace. In Ruby Tuesday, readers meet Teagan Collins, the second oldest of seven siblings and a talented singer/songwriter. One night, rock superstar Sky Mitchell is looking to break free from his band, The Universe and try his hand at a solo career. He finds his way into the family pub and happens to hear one of Teagan’s songs. He immediately wants the song…and Teagan. He embarks on a full-out, no holds barred seduction, but Teagan has a secret of her own.

Wednesday’s child is full of woe. Tristan Collins in Waiting for Wednesday has spent the last year in hell, wondering where the girl who got away got to! Lane Bryce endured a nasty beating at the hands of her abusive husband when he discovered her trying to leave him. She manages to escape and get a divorce, but the memories of her friendship with Tris bring her home again. Now that Tris has found Lane again, he’s determined to keep her…beside him, under him, on top of him. His year of woe is over and now he’s looking for a lifetime of happiness and love…with Lane.

Thursday’s child has far to go. In Sweet Thursday, soldier Killian Collins returned from Iraq with his best friend, Justin Porter, ready to embrace life as a civilian, maybe even find a girl and settle down. At their ten-year high school reunion, Justin and Killian are pleasantly surprised to find their childhood friend, Lily. Seems Lily harbored a girlhood crush on both of them back in school and regrets not acting on it. Now she’s all grown up and offers a shocking proposition—one night, bed optional, three bodies. Can anyone say “ménage a t-wow?!”

Friday’s child is loving and giving. Ewan Collins, from Friday I’m in Love, knows what he wants and it’s Sky Mitchell’s best friend, Natalie Miller. So what if she’s older than him? So what if she lives on the west coast while he resides on the east? He’s had the hots for her for years and when she comes to stay with the family for a week, he decides it’s time to make his desires—every single red hot one of them—known. Nat’s in a funk, so she takes a vacation, thinking that getting out of town will help clear out the blues. When she confides in Ewan about her depression, he promises he can change her whole perspective on life in just seven days. By the end of the week, Ewan vows that come Friday, Nat won’t just be in lust. She will be in love…with him.

Saturday’s child works hard for a living. Riley Collins is well-known for her Saturday Night Special. She doesn’t just work hard, she plays hard. When she ends up in Vegas after one particularly hard night of partying, Aaron Young, her best friend, decides it’s time to rein in her wild side…with a trip to the Elvis chapel and a ring on her finger. By the time Riley sobers up, she finds herself in bed and matrimony with Aaron, and he’s not about to agree to a quickie annulment. Unfortunately for Aaron, marriage isn’t enough to tame Riley and before long, he finds himself trying to track down a stripper and a cheating husband, while evading a pimp who looks like Wayne Newton and a hooker named Bubbles. Lucky for him, he has handcuffs and a new wife who loves kinky sex, even if she’s not ready to admit she loves him.

But the child who is born on the Sabbath day is bonny and blithe and good and gay. On Any Given Sunday, Sean Collins can be found hanging out in his apartment with his girlfriend, Lauren and his best friend, Chad. While taking a class on human sexuality, Lauren and Chad are asked to explore avenues they hadn’t previously considered and along the way, dark needs are revealed. Desires none of the friends would have imagined find their way to the surface. While Sean’s penchant for domination is uncovered, Lauren discovers her need for pain and Sean’s need for Chad. Can these three friends find a happy compromise or will they all be alone by next Sunday?

Damon's Price

A new Red Hot! Historical Romance from Ali Katz. Available March 9, from Samhain Publishing.
Hi, Selena. Thanks so much for having me.

And just look at that cover. The artist is Scott Carpenter. I couldn’t be happier.

That said, I’m ready to spread the love. I’d like to invite all your readers to visit my website, Passion in Spades, at www.a-katz.com and enter my monthly giveaway. Just sign my guestbook for a chance to win a download of Damon’s Price as well as a goody bag of promotional prizes from some of their favorite authors. The drawing will be held April 1st. They’ll find more details when they visit.

Now, on with the show. Here’s a little taste of Damon’s Price.

Blurb
For Claudia, love comes late and, perhaps, at too great a price.

Widowhood agrees with thirty-eight-year-old Claudia Sabina. Her husband and father left her wealthy, but her most prized possession is their gift of independence. She enjoys a freedom few women in male-dominated Roman society will ever know.

One of her most valuable assets is Damon, a young Greek slave bequeathed to her by her father. Intelligent, resourceful and educated beyond the norm for even a freeborn Roman citizen, Damon is a man of many talents. It doesn’t hurt that he is also a pleasure to look at.

For months, Damon hides the fact he’s fallen in love with his new mistress. He convinces himself he can be satisfied with her nearness—until the night he walks in on her bath, and his rigid control deserts him. Consequences fail to matter as he offers her full use of talents that, until now, he’s never revealed.

In a moment of weakness, Claudia crosses the line laid down by Roman law and custom, immersing herself in an illegal and dangerous love affair. A choice that threatens both their futures.

Excerpt- The morning after…

What have I done to myself? The question woke Claudia hours before dawn, robbing her of the deepest, most peaceful sleep she’d experienced in years and giving her no rest since. Her blessed contentment shattered, she could not shove the man from her mind or the memory of his touch from her body.

Still, she’d managed to get most of yesterday’s work off her desk. Only one signature remained. The tablet lay in front of her, but the last three paragraphs of Damon’s carefully worded contract eluded her. The closer the time came for Damon to appear, the more distracted she became. He would have finished his rounds by now. She awaited his arrival with both anticipation and dread. She’d chewed her lower lip raw.

Blaming him would be so easy, and just what she needed to ease her guilt. He had, after all, tempted her. Her mind kept returning to the fact, seeking justification for its mutinous surrender, but reason insisted she claim responsibility. He was a slave—her slave, and bound to do what she bid.

And bid she would, without a doubt. A shiver coursed through her at the memory of what he’d done to her. She had no problem blaming him for making her want more. The idea of using him shamed her a little, yet she could not convince herself that, if he refused her in the future, she wouldn’t insist.

The knock at her door stopped her breath. She considered finding some task for him to do far away from the house—a coward’s temporary solution. But six orders sat on the corner of her desk awaiting his attention.

He rapped again.

She forced herself to breathe.

“Enter.” Claudia picked up the contract and put her mind to those last few clauses.

“Good morning, Era,” he said in a perfectly normal voice that flowed from her ears to her sex, plucking every nerve on the way.

“I’m almost done,” she said without looking at him. “I’ll be with you in a moment. Look these over while you wait, please.” She pushed the stack of orders toward him.

Claudia made three more attempts to understand what she read. If she’d thought anticipating his arrival distracting, his actual presence was ten times so. How could she keep her eyes on her reading when they were constantly drawn to the fall of fabric over his hips and thighs where he stood in front of her?

She watched the movement of his hand as he lifted each tablet a few inches from the table to read. He had beautiful, long-fingered hands, the nails scrubbed and neatly trimmed. Her sex clutched remembering the way those fingers had filled her. A shudder betrayed her.

Damon’s hand trembled when he reached for the next tablet. So, he noticed her scrutiny and was not unaffected as he wanted her to believe. Somehow, the fact eased her mind.

Claudia stopped pretending to read and gathered herself. Why was she so nervous? This was her office, her house, her slave. The time had come to take charge. She looked up, aware of every inch her eyes swept over on their way to his face.

Damon waited for her to speak first.

She needed something, anything, from him to tell her what last night had been to him. If the answer was a job well done, so be it, but this pretense of normalcy disturbed her.

When it became obvious she wouldn’t break the silence, he said, “The wagons are here for the first shipment to Rome. They’ve begun loading. Do you want to come with me this morning when I inspect?”

A surge of annoyance stifled her response. She’d get up and leave before letting him act like nothing had happened between them. “Sit.”

His eyes widened with alarm. “This isn’t a good idea,” he muttered, but he crossed the tiny room and dragged the other chair to the front of the desk. By the time he sat, his good-natured calm had melted to concern.
“I’ve offended you,” he said quietly.

“Quite the contrary,” Claudia said. She set the tablet she’d been trying to read aside. “I think I must have been the one to offend. You seemed quite upset when we parted.”

“No, Era, not upset. Bewildered, perhaps. The end was…unexpected.”

Unexpected? Did she commit some breach of etiquette? The idea brought a smile to her face. “I find that hard to believe.”

“Era, I promise you, my only intention—”

“Really, Damon, I couldn’t have you leave my room in such a state.”

Understanding dawned in his face. He smiled. “I assure you, I was very aware of my state, Era. I needed only a moment or two to compose myself.”
Claudia was the first to admit she lacked experience in these matters, but a moment?

A look at Pas de Deux by Fiona Jayde

Blurb:

One wrong move, and she could be dancing on her grave…

Two years after an injury put her dancing career on hold, Lynnrina Kovaleva is determined to reclaim her place on the stage. On the eve of her comeback production, she takes the edge off her nerves with a one-night stand in the strong arms of celebrity bodyguard Mateo Rivera.

Ex-cop Mateo is celebrating one hell of an anniversary: eight months since he was declared unfit for duty. When a delicate beauty boldly propositions him in a bar, he chooses to lose himself in her body rather than lose his mind to alcohol. This choice comes back to haunt him when he’s hired to protect a prima ballerina who’s been receiving threats.

Despite her shock at seeing him again, Lynn must not allow their intense attraction—or any creepy fan letters—to undermine her performance. Mateo can’t reconcile this coldly focused dancer with the passionate woman who seduced him. Yet he sees fire under the ice, pain hidden by the smooth mask of perfection.

The vivid memory of their entwined bodies wars with the job at hand, but he must keep Lynn safe—regardless of the cost. The most difficult challenge, however, will be keeping his hands to himself.

Warning: Contains jetés, pliés, a chilling touch of danger, and the boiling heat of an unwanted attraction that combusts into passionate sex.

Excerpt (Steamy)

She couldn’t handle another day of nerves, of pent-up lust ruining her focus. “You shouldn’t stay at the studio today.” Somehow a letter from some lunatic made her less nervous than those hard dark eyes.

His eyebrows rose. “We back to the same game?”

“No games.” She forced herself to put down her glass calmly before she slammed it on the counter. The same counter where he’d fucked her from behind, where she’d begged him to go harder. “I need to focus on the piece and I can’t do that with you watching.” The words kept pouring out even while she tried to get herself to just shut up. “You’re hot then you’re cold, and I can’t catch my balance. Either it’s personal or business, and you—”

“Last night was personal.”

“Don’t freaking interrupt.” Except she didn’t know what else to say now.

“You’re done talking?”

“No.” It came out breathy when she wanted to tell him to go to hell. Except his eyes held her a willing captive.

“You should know I barely slept last night.”

She nodded, suddenly nervous.

“You should know I’m not thinking clearly.”

Another nod, because she didn’t have anything to say.

“You should tell me to go.”

“Then go.” She thought she whispered those two words except his mouth was on hers, firm, wild, desperate.

No control this time, no seduction. He kissed her as if he were starved, as if her mouth was salvation.

A Toast to my GUITAR MAN by Marie Treanor

A Toast to my GUITAR MAN
When Selena kindly invited me to her blog to talk about my latest release, Guitar Man, I began to look for ways to connect it to Valentine’s Day – something more than the obvious fact that it’s a romance! And I thought that, aside from his inconvenient possession by an evil spirit, my hero, Chris, would make a great Valentine’s Day partner – he’s fun, good-looking, sexy, would take you out for dinner, seduce you with romantic music and song…

I remembered my initial inspiration for Chris, a rather charming, blond, Irish busker I saw once in Italy, playing his guitar and singing outside a church. He had amazing blue eyes and a dazzling smile which he bestowed on all who caught his roving attention – including me. My story formed itself around him – or at least my idea of him which was pure imagination for I never even spoke to him!

I do know other musicians, though. In fact, I’ve lived with one for nearly twenty years, and inevitably bits of him crept into Chris too. I even dedicated the story to him - “my own Guitar Man” - who, apart from everything else, is the reason I can and do write. So here’s my day after Valentine’s Day toast.

To my real Guitar Man, a true, free spirit - musician, poet, photographer, computer geek, bon viveur and player of games – my friend and companion, the father of my children and the love of my life. My husband.
How’s that for romantic?

And here’s a little more romance, from Guitar Man, the book :-)

***
Adjusting to the dark, I was sure I could make out relief in his eyes. Certainly, they began to smile again, along with his lips. “In that case, do you want to go out?”
I frowned. “Go out where?”
“You can choose,” he said dryly and I understood. Although the blood rushed through my body and into my neck and face, somewhere, I wanted to laugh.

“You mean like a date?”
“Dating, stepping out, courting, whatever…wynching, they say in Glasgow.”

“Wynching?” I repeated with a mixture of fascination and distaste.

“Don’t dodge the question.”
“I’m not,” I protested, not quite truthfully, for I had no idea what to answer, what I wanted to answer. “I’m just struggling to believe you are asking me out on a date. Considering our past…” No point in ignoring it. We’d had one wild, naughty time, no doubt far wilder and naughtier than if we had ever planned to see each other again.

“Well considering our past, it seems an even better idea.” His hand came up, touched my hair, my cheek, so lightly that I shivered. “Ellie, you were the best fuck I ever had, but I never knew you. I’d like to.”

Gasping, I caught at his hand, pressing it to my cheek without meaning to. “Was I really?” I whispered.

Silent laughter shook his shoulders. “By a mile. Come on, let’s do it properly, drinks, theatre, dinner…I’ll call you.”

I said breathlessly, “All right.”

My whole body burned. I didn’t really know why. Lust, certainly, but something else I thought might be embarrassment.

Chris smiled. “Kiss me good night, then.”

I lifted my face mutely, lips already parted. Relief and anticipation flooded me as he took me loosely into his arms and bent his head. God, I remembered his kisses, I remembered them so well and this afternoon seemed to have rekindled my short but intense addiction to them. Oh yes, this afternoon had been sweet…
And the morning terrifying. For a moment I froze with the memory, with the vision of Chris as he had been then, violent, crude, uncaring. Here, in the dark, how could I tell the real Chris from whatever demon possessed him? What if we were wrong and it wasn’t tied to the house at all? Would I be lucky enough to escape it a second time?

His eyes seemed to glitter as they came nearer. In fresh panic, I realized I didn’t actually know Chris very much better than I knew “it”. And yet I wanted his kiss, I wanted it so badly I’d risk the demon.

My lips actually trembled and then his warm mouth covered them, brushing, stroking, sinking. That’s how I know. No one kisses like Chris.

I opened for him, touched my tongue to his, felt its long, sliding caress as it twisted around mine. My arms crept around his neck, drawing him closer, remembering the feel of him. It was a long, sweet kiss, full of promise and building passion. Against my stomach, I felt his delicious hardening. His mouth pressed harder too, grew more demanding. His tongue plunged deeper and I was lost. I would have lain in the back seat of the Mini with him. I would have got down and dirty in the gravel. God yes, there was something about Chris!

But just as I moaned and began to writhe against him, he broke the kiss. Though his breathing was uneven, his arms loosened again, holding me only lightly as he touched his forehead to mine.

“Oh Ellie,” he breathed. “It was worth waiting a year for a kiss like that.”
Enchanted, I gave him another, sliding my fingers up through his soft, short hair to pull him closer. His arms tightened around me once more, his hand swept down my back and over my bottom, caressing while drawing me against his crotch. He leaned back against the car door. The feel of his bone-hard cock pressing into me, drove me wilder and as if he sensed it, the hand on my buttock shifted down my thigh, lifting it up and over his hip and I could feel his cock nestling against my soaking pussy. I moaned as his roving hand found its way under my skirt and to my naked leg, caressing up my thigh and inside my panties.

Dragging his mouth free of mine, he groaned, “I have this insane urge to lay you over the bonnet and push my cock right in there…” I gasped as his finger slid through my folds and unerringly found its way inside me for the second time that day. “I don’t care if they’re watching from the window.”
I said shakily, “Then why don’t you?”

Lexxie and Vivian Take Over for Valentine's Day

VIvian Arend wanted to be Asimov when she grew up. Lexxie Couper wanted to be Stephen King. Somewhere along the way, they both decided to be naughtier than their idols. Much, much naughtier. How naughty can two authors be?

The Story of Vivian and Claiming Derryn....

Space, the final frontier. Into this universe steps a slightly shell-shocked Canadian. What do you mean I have to write a story where no one shifts into some other form? Frick! Drawing on way too many years of Star Trek, (and BTW, I was the one who dreamed up a sexy Spock. He was my boyfriend, damnit all...) and reading Asimov and Clarke under the covers late into the night, a new menace has risen to threaten the galaxy.

Something is rotten in the Space Institute Corp. One of her undercover ships has mutinied. The SIC Nottingham is an unlikely place to find our sexy heroes, but they are there--two of them--waiting to recover their lost heroine so they can save the universe from rogue government, rebels with explosive plots and small furry creatures gone wild. No, they do NOT shift. Pay attention.

Three lovers reunited, a run on the energy market and an evil relative who will make you glad you don't have to go home for holidays with him. Warning, m/m/f love that is hot enough to cause global warming on any planet.

How many layers of deception are there in space?

Viv:

I'm very excited to be able to have Claiming Derryn available to you. This is my first futuristic novella, my first m/m/f, and my first release from Ellora's Cave. Claiming Derryn is about three friends--and lovers during their days at the Space Institute--who were suddenly separated. Now rejoined in the midst of a rebel uprising, the lines between the good guys and the bad are extremely blurred. Surviving the situation is the goal, even as they find love. Oh, and if you've ever seen Star Trek's 'The Trouble with Tribbles' you'll understand when I say the 'sharysa' are my salute to Star Trek.

It’s a hot, wild ride through the galaxy. Be prepared for a passion that’s out of this world.

Snippet from Claiming Derryn:

They were pains in the ass. How had she put up with them for five years at the Institute? More importantly, how had she ever done without them? She had to guard her heart because there was no way she would to open herself up to the pain of being left alone, no matter what Trev said about loving her. They’d let her down once, they could do it again.

The best defense was offense.
“Take a walk outside, Davis, you’re so full of shit it stinks in here.”

Davis roared with laughter. He smirked at Trev, their elbows jostling together. “She’s obviously learned to relax her rigid sense of propriety a little.”
He really was impossible. “Go to hell.” She turned to look for a sign of which direction to go, anything to escape from here. From them.

“Tsk, tsk, is that anyway to talk to your new commanding officer?”
Melina froze. No way. She sucked in a breath of air and tried to stop the world from spinning. “You?”
Davis nodded. “Me.”
“No fucking way…”
“What? So I’m a little colorful and inventive in my leadership style. I think after you settle in you’ll enjoy working under me.” His eyes flashed dark, his gaze dropping to her breasts. “You’ll enjoy being under me again.”
Melina turned her back on him. Her heart pounded, panic not far away. Adjusting from being alone to having both men reenter her life in less than a day—it wasn’t happening. They pushed buttons she didn’t want to deal with. Trev appeared by her side, sympathy on his face. She wanted to deny the connection between them, ignore the desires rising as each minute passed. Only a whisper made it out. “I need to get back to the War Eagle. I can’t serve with a man who I’ve…that we’ve…”
“Lived with? Had sex with? Oh yeah, we were amazing together, Melina, admit it.” Trev moved closer, his intentional laziness gone, a dangerous spark that trickled heat through her core warning of his intent.

“Trev!” Melina stepped away.
He gave no quarter, circling her slowly in the hallway. To her right, Davis approached like a prowling beast. Trev chuckled, a warm molten sound that hit her in the belly and spread melting fingers through her. “We’ll just have to work at keeping the bedroom and the bridge separated. I was a little surprised myself, but Davis is an excellent captain.”

“I give great oral…direction.” Davis’ husky tones set a shiver down her spine.
She shook her head rapidly in denial. “How can I take orders from a man I’ve seen naked?”
“Naked and aroused.” Trev reminded her, capturing her from behind. He brushed aside her hair and nuzzled her neck. Memories rose of them surrounding her, wrapping her in their fire and desire and passion. Holy hell, she wanted this and dreaded it at the same time.

“Naked, aroused and mighty fine, admit it.” Davis stroked a finger down the placket of her shirt, and heat shot through her core with a rocket’s blaze.
“It’s never happening again,” she swore, clutching her fingers at her sides to stop from reaching for him.

“Never is a long, long time.” Davis stepped forward and claimed her lips in a kiss that ignited her soul. He drew their bodies together, his spicy male scent enveloping her as his hardness took possession of her softness. He forced his tongue past her teeth, pressing rough and fast, twining with her, consuming her. He dragged his fingers through her hair and pinned her between him and Trev, two solid barriers of scorching heat. When he finally released her lips, Melina gasped for air, clutching his uniform for stability. It had always been like that with Davis, a no-holds-barred attack.
Then he reached past her to where Trev suckled on her earlobe, exploring the sensitive tissue of her neck. Grasping the front of his shirt, Davis hauled Trev forward until he hung over Melina’s shoulder. Their mouths met and tongues explored, a kiss as deep and hard as the one Davis had bestowed on her moments earlier. Her pussy clenched as a rush of fluid flooded her body.
“Fuck, that’s hot.” Her heart pounded at the sight of the men together and the heat of passion rising from them, their rigid cocks pressing her on either side. She wanted this—wanted it more than her next breath. Screw the consequences, the backlash from her family and friends. Like any of them cared anymore. Watching the two men she’d always loved kissing for the first time in forever finally set her world back on the right trajectory.
They pulled apart slowly, Davis nipping at Trev’s lip before backing away. He grumbled low in his chest, caressing his thumb over lips swollen from his assault. “I missed you.” His gaze darted to meet Melina’s. “I’ve missed you so much. No more of this stinking talk about never. I want you both back where you belong—at my side and in my bed—and I’m not taking no for an answer.”

The Tale of Lexxie and Timeless Wrath...

Once upon a time there was this little Aussie writer with a very twisted imagination. One night, in a fit of insane inspiration, she wrote a novella called Deadly Sins: Anger. The novella a very dark, twisted, erotic and at times frightening tale was snapped up and published by an American publishing house. It won numerous awards and went totally unread by most of the world. This devastated the little Aussie writer to no end. Deadly Sins: Anger was a good book - a bloody good book. She sulked for many years until one day, she decided the world NEEDED to read the erotic tale of fated love and demonic forces. Plucking up more courage than she thought she had, the little Aussie writer regained publishing rights to her dark, sensual tale, reworked it considerably (including more sex, of course) and sent it to her editor at Ellora's Cave. Her editor snapped it up immediately, and Deadly Sins: Anger was reborn as Timeless Wrath, a highly erotic novella that comes with the following publisher's warning: Sex and violence abound in this terrifically intense tale; big-girl pants definitely required.

Anger is a powerful emotion. So is desire. And fear....

Lexxie:

There must be something seriously wrong with me. I love writing stories that are dark and twisted, quite disturbing and full of wild dangerous sex. Enter Timeless Wrath. I wrote Timeless Wrath years ago and it was previously released as a novella called Deadly Sins: Anger. It won numerous awards (including the JERR Silver Star Award) but remained unknown to the reading public. However Evron and Ricki’s tale DEMANDED to be heard and, after quite a lot of rewrites, my most erotic book to date comes to you from Ellora’s Cave.

Timeless Wrath has just about everything you’d expect in a Lexxie Couper book – lots of explosive sex, tormented heroes, lots of wild sex, a villain that’ll scare the pants right off you, lots of passionate sex and a love story fated by the Highest of Powers (oh, and lots of sex. Did I mention that?)

I should warn you though. Timeless Wrath isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s violent, at times scary and has been known to cause nightmares…and wicked, wet dreams :-)

Snippet from Timeless Wrath:

The drive to Evron’s house was silent, unlawful and torturous. Neither he nor the stunning creature beside him spoke, perhaps still too rocked by the force of their meeting, perhaps too scared to break whatever mystical force had brought about its occurrence. The woman’s car—a bright red rental compact complete with yellow-and-black label still stuck to the dash—moved through the dark streets of Sydney at a speed way beyond the posted limit. If the cops nabbed them they’d both end up in jail. She for driving like a maniac, he for finger-fucking her as she drove.

His cock, longer and harder than it’d ever been, ached, scalding blood pumping through its length. If it weren’t for his jeans, it would be a pulsating poker pointing straight up. Christ, he was in agony.

And it felt wonderful.

He wiggled the three fingers of his right hand again, index seeking the sweetest spot within her sex. The woman’s sodden pussy contracted and a swift gasp slipped past her lips. Shifting back to fourth gear, she flung them around a corner into a dark, narrow alley and hit the brakes, screeching to a stop under a flickering street light.

She stared out the windscreen, hips rocking slowly back and forth. “I can’t wait.”

Her blunt proclamation sent a surge of heat straight to Evron’s cock and he moaned. “Neither can I.”

In the span of a heartbeat, her hands jerked at his belt and yanked down his fly. His straining cock sprung free, the cool breeze of the air-conditioner biting at its fevered flesh. Yet before he could shiver, full, soft lips wrapped around its throbbing length and ecstasy flooded through him.

“Oh, God Almighty.” The words were almost lost in his groan, a groan that grew raw when long, sure fingers slipped around his balls. Ramming his head back against the car’s headrest, Evron stared at the roof, blood roaring in his ears. The warm, wet cavity surrounding his cock slid up and down, teeth and tongue teasing the glans just below the head until he was on fire. “Goddamn it!” he rasped, teeth clenched. “If you don’t stop…”

Evron felt the woman smile.

And then her tongue curled around the base of his cock and licked at his balls.

It was too much. Utter bliss pervaded his body. Hot, squirming and alive. In spurts of jolting pleasure, he came. Eyes closed, heart pounding. “Holy fucking Christ!”

Still she didn’t stop. Her mouth worked at his pulsating shaft, sucking its length, teasing its head. He writhed in the seat, one hand fisted in her glorious, silken mane, the other thrusting harder against her wet, creamy sex. Slurping sounds filled the car’s cab, from her talented mouth and her sodden pussy.

Unbelievably, his spent cock began to stiffen. Barely minutes after erupting his balls were swollen, heavy and ready to burst again. God, how can she do this to me?

He didn’t know.

Fate.

The word whispered through his mind like pure light. Undeniable and serene. He pressed his palm to the exquisite curve of her spine. “Come up.” The words fell from his lips in a ragged breath. Hell, he didn’t believe it was possible to feel like this, as if he’d been turned into a being of concentrated pleasure. He wanted the woman responsible to experience that same rapture. “I want to…”

He didn’t need to finish. Blue eyes flashing, the woman lifted her head. For a brief moment her honey-blonde hair seemed to blaze with red fire, and then the illusion vanished. A small smile played at the corners of her mouth. “Do you have…?” She let the question dangle, the smile on her lips cheeky.

Without further provoking, knowing exactly what she was asking for, Evron dug his wallet from his back pocket and fumbled out a condom.

“Hmm, perfect.” She took the small foil square in one hand as she reached over his lap with the other, her hand slipping down beside his seat. “Let’s get more comfortable, shall we?” Her shoulder bunched and, with a sharp upward tug, she pulled on the release and dropped his seat flat.

Long legs straddled him before he had the chance to react, negotiating the handbrake and gear knob with ease. Gaze holding his, she brought the condom packet to her mouth and tore it open with her teeth, slipping the small circle of latex from its packaging. Wordlessly, she slid the slick sheath over his erection, his muscles coiling in anticipation as her fingers stroked his hard length. Despite being cramped in the confines of the car, she moved with a fluid grace that made his already straining cock twitch with eager interest and his breath grow more ragged. Goddamn, he was going to asphyxiate with raw lust and he didn’t even know who she was.

Doesn’t matter.

It did. A distant part of his brain—the rational part so often strangled by his rage—told him it did matter. He looked up at her, his pulse slamming against his neck, his hands automatically going to her hips.

Ask her name. Before she—

She positioned herself over his lap, stared him straight in the eye and impaled herself on his cock.

Both Claiming Derryn and Timeless Wrath are available now at Ellora's Cave. Both contain more hot sex than you could imagine. Both will make hornier than you could believe. But be warned...

...Claiming Derryn will have you gazing longingly and lustfully at the stars every night... and Timeless Wrath will have you checking your closet for monsters...and your bed for a hunky Aussie hero.

Enjoy.

28 Days of Heart: Marcia James

Marcia James Joins ARe’s American Heart Association Fundraiser
Thanks for hosting me on the blog tour for All Romance eBooks’ (ARe) “28 Days of Heart” campaign! I’m thrilled to be one of the authors who donated sexy, romantic stories for this American Heart Association fundraiser. Heart disease is the #1 killer of woman, and due to Valentine’s Day, February has long been associated with matters of the heart. So this month is the perfect time to treat yourself to ARe’s sensual stories that will warm your heart (and other body parts!), while raising vital funds.

Love Unleashed is my contribution to ARe’s 28 Days of Heart: http://www.allromanceebooks.com/product-loveunleashed-402754-149.html. A sexy contemporary, the story features an estranged couple who are reunited with the help of a stray dog. As with all of my “hot, humorous romances”, Love Unleashed’s canine character is a Chinese crested hairless dog.
Charlie, the “crestie” in Love Unleashed, is a homeless dog who’s fostered by the radio DJ hero as part of his plan to woo back his former lover, an animal shelter director. The little pooch wrangles his way into the hero’s heart while playing matchmaker to the couple. The idea behind Love Unleashed began when a friend complained that her boyfriend wasn’t wild enough in bed. (Her exact words were: “Gentle lovemaking is nice, but sometimes you just want to f*ck.”) When my story’s hero finally unleashes his inner sexy beast, the couple gets a second chance at their happily ever after – along with some seriously hot sex!

Here’s the blurb for Love Unleashed.

-- Marcia James

Love Unleashed blurb:

His best laid plans...
DJ “Rabid Ron” Hart has a grand scheme to win back the woman he loves. It involves an animal adoption fair, a goofy hairless dog named Charlie and an offer she can’t refuse.

Her hidden desires...
Cara Wilson has fantasies she’s never admitted, and her ex-boyfriend still features in her erotic dreams. If only he didn’t keep his bad-boy urges so tightly leashed.

Tonight they’ll learn that winning sometimes takes losing control.

28 Days of Heart: G.A. Hauser

Blurb:
Sometimes love hits you when you least expect it…

Exchange student Elia Gianni arrives at the Dayton airport ready to soak up everything American. When the young Italian was offered a placement with the Steele family, he knew he'd been given the chance of a lifetime. What he didn’t anticipate was the Steele’s blond, blue-eyed son, Rick.

The instant Rick sets eyes on the fantastic foreigner he falls head over heels. But the big, macho athlete was used to hiding his feelings and desperately wanting things he couldn’t have. Revealing the truth would change everything and throw his family into a tailspin.

Reality, however, becomes harder to deny when Rick is forced to share his bedroom with Elia. The summer immersion experience turns out to be more than anyone was prepared for as the two young men become lost in one another, sharing an exchange...of hearts.

Love isn’t bound by the limits of time…

The Celtic warrior woman presses her hard iron dagger against Kaeso’s throat, but her arm does not obey the will to slay him. From time out of mind, memories of fated lovers, druids, and sacrifice, stay her hand. Kaeso is also captivated by dreams of the woman he loved in a previous life, the mirror image of Anwen. But in this lifetime they are foes, Roman and Celt. Can Anwen and Kaeso steer their timeless voyage to a happy destiny or will they be robbed of love once more?

Excerpt:

“I shall sing to you, Ovid's poem, Amores.” In a tone muted with lust he recited, “‘Hair parted along her ivory neck.’”

Lifting one hand, he brushed his fingers down the back of her smooth neck in feathery strokes. Her skin was so warm and soft. Moving his hand to her face, he traced the outline of her lips. He pressed his lips against hers, gently covering her wet, warm mouth. As he slipped his fingers down her arm, he rested his other hand on her waist, drawing her close. Bodies pressed together, their feet moving in small rhythmic steps, they glided across the sand, dancing to the roar of rushing, white-foamed waves.

28 Days of Heart: K.F. Zuzulo

What Makes Your Heart Beat?

My husband makes my heart beat. Smart heroes with a tender side. And genies. They’re powerful, captivating, and mysterious. Along with all those great traits and some mystical skills—which can actually be heart-stopping—genies have feelings, too. I write romance novels about genies and despite the paranormal aspect, genies get under your skin (literally) because they’re not afraid to show their emotions. The emotions aren’t always warm and fuzzy, or hot and titillating. They can be vengeful, angry and ferocious and, if well written, will get your blood rushing.

The novella I wrote for ARe’s 28 Days of Heart is called Angels & Genies and introduces genie Match Ramsey, who gets the blood rushing in teacher-turned-realtor Angeline Delaire. Match and his surfer-dude angel sidekick Miguel seek to block the entrance of evil jinni Iblis to the earthly realm. Angeline holds the key to the sought portal. The only hint I’ll give is—as any realtor will tell you—it’s all about location, location, location. But the real story is the conflict Angeline feels—about herself, her career, and Match. That’s where the emotion is. It’s also in the awareness Match increasingly feels that he’d do anything to help her.
This book, as well all the books being sold as part of ARe’s campaign, has an extra dose of emotion because of its intention…to help raise money and awareness of heart disease in women. So, check them out! You’ll be getting a healthy helping of intrigue, passion, and romance, plus you’ll be helping out. That’s where the heart is.

What makes your heart beat?

You can learn about K. F. Zuzulo, her books, and the romance of the jinn at her website, www.kfzuzulo.com.
Angels & Genies will be available from All Romance eBooks on February 24th.

Between Heaven & Earth Lies Temptation

Contractor Match Ramsey has 36 hours to find the portal between the earthly realm and Jinnistan, the land of the jinn from which he comes. He is a genie warrior charged with protecting humans from the trespass of the demon jinni, Iblis. Somewhere beneath his cliffside property lies the doorway. His focus is diverted by the entrancing and determined Angeline Delaire, a sexy realtor who has been directed to buy the property from him at any price.

Angeline is a woman with a fiery temper and independent spirit. She is conflicted by the directive of her client, Mateus Ring, a handsome tycoon who has infiltrated her dreams. Yet, it is Match who inflames Angeline.

She soon realizes that the lustful yearnings ripping through her body come from an evil source. She will have to find clarity between her desire for Match and the overwhelming craving for Mateus. One will redeem her, but the other could destroy her.

28 Days of Heart: Barbara Hancock

There's just something about a haunted abbey surrounded by the foggy moors of Northern England...especially when it's home to a dark and dangerous vampire who's waiting for his reluctant bride. In "A Shadow's Kiss", I decided to lean a little gothic and I enjoyed every minute of it. The atomosphere, the emotion, the sensuality--every element came together--making me fall in love with my tortured hero and the woman who doesn't expect to love him.

I'm excited this story was chosen to be one of the novellas in the 28 Days of Heart campaign. I never knew my grandmother. She died as the result of a heart attack before I was born. But I've seen my mother's battle with heart problems first hand and I'm so glad that I can help raise money for The American Heart Association by sharing something close to my own heart...paranormal romance.

Blurb:
Can their love overcome a legacy of evil…

Anna Benecia can't escape her destiny. A promise signed in blood binds a Shadow for eternity even if the one bound longs to live in the sunny here and now.

Malcolm Hayes is the new host for the hunger of an evil spirit who has walked the earth for a thousand years. The Darkhaven shade must have the blood of innocents fed upon by the vampires he creates and controls in order to remain manifest. Freshly possessed and cursed to burn with a hunger only his Shadow bride can slake, Malcolm is determined to fight.

Can a young woman destined to marry into darkness bring the light of hope to a man newly cursed to walk the night?

As the daughter of an alcoholic, Barbara learned at a young age to turn to fictional worlds for escape. She especially loved fantasy, romance and science fiction. When she decided to write, it was natural that she should combine her early loves. Barbara has a special affinity for characters who live in the shadows but refuse to be defined by the darkness that surrounds them. She loves exploring deep emotions, bringing happily ever afters to life on the page… and Glacier Mint ice cream.

28 Days of Heart: Samantha Sommersby

As an author and lover of romance, matters of the heart are important to me. I was thrilled to have my novella, Touch of Fire, accepted by All Romance for their 28 Days of Heart series. Valentine’s Day is filled with imagery of hearts and flowers, expectations of boxes of chocolate, or dinners out. I love the idea of doing something to promote awareness, especially in women, about the importance of taking care of our health and our hearts.

My novella is especially personal because it also pays homage to something else I’m grateful for, the brave firefighters of San Diego county who help save lives and fight the wildfires that plague us every year. Check out the yummy cover and little blurb:

Summary:
He'd brave the fires of hell just to hold her...

Firefighter Garrett Flint rescues the beautiful Nicole from a burning building, and then breaks all the rules by taking her into his home and into his heart.

In honor of the series release, I’m running a contest!

Enter the Your Heart’s Desire Contest

1. Post a list of the four titles from the series you’d most like to have someplace on the web. Facebook, myspace, twitter, your own blog, one belonging to a friend, this one…all fair game.

2. Using the contact page on my website samanthasommersby [dot] com, email me the URL where I can find your post and your email address

What’s the Fabulous Prize?
At the end of the month I will fulfill the wishes of seven winners for a total of 28 books. Winners will be contacted prior to fulfillment just in case their top four selection has changed.

Why seven winners, four books each? Because I really want to encourage everyone to support this endeavor. With 28 titles to choose from in so many sub-genres, and for a super reasonable price ($1.99-$3.50) you’re sure to find some others that you can’t live without. Right?

Samantha Sommersby lives in San Diego with her husband and son. In 2007 she left what she used to call her “real life” day job as a psychotherapist to pursue writing full-time. She now happily spends her days immersed in the world of the Forbidden, a world where vampires are real, where magic is possible, and where love still conquers all. Samantha is the author of over a dozen novels and novellas including The Temptation, book four in the critically acclaimed Forbidden series releasing March 5 and published by Samhain Publishing, Ltd.

28 Days of Heart: Jacki Kessler

28 Days Tour: Hell’s Angel by Jackie Kessler

Blurb: Where can an angel find comfort? A lonely banished angel sits outside the gates of Paradise, lamenting the joy she has lost. When she is joined by a fallen archangel, she learns that one doesn't need to be in Heaven to experience bliss.

Hi! I’m Jackie Kessler, and I like to write about demons and angels, among other things. When I heard about the 28 Days of Heart, and that all proceeds would be going to the American Heart Association, I knew I wanted to write a Hell story for it, one that was about connection, and possibly even redemption.

The angel called Angel first appears in my second book, THE ROAD TO HELL, but you don’t need to read it to understand why Angel is alone outside the gates of Paradise...or why she feels so horribly alone. And you don’t need to read the first book, HELL’S BELLES, to know who the archangel is that she meets. (But of course, I hope you **will** read the books!)

“Hell’s Angel” is somewhat of a departure from the Hell on Earth series in that it’s not humorous, it’s not written in first person, and it’s not about the former succubus Jezebel. Whether you’re new to Hell on Earth or if you’ve read all the books and novellas, I think you’ll enjoy the story.

Books and stories by Jackie Kessler:

Hell on Earth series:
Hell’s Belles
The Road to Hell
“A Hell of a Time,” Eternal Lover
Hotter than Hell (mass-market reissue coming September 2010)
“When Hell Comes Calling,” Lilith Unbound
“Hell Is Where the Heart Is,” A Red Hot Valentine’s Day
“Hell’s Angel,” 28 Days of Heart
“Hell Bound,” Those Who Fight Monsters (coming fall 2010)
Hell to Pay (date TBA)
“Hell’s Fury,” Mammoth Book of Hot Romance (date TBA)

The Icarus Project series (with Caitlin Kittredge):
Black and White
Shades of Gray (coming June 2010)

Young Adult novels (by Jackie Morse Kessler):

28 Days of Heart: Tilly Greene

Daydreaming Does a Body Good
My name is Tilly Greene, an erotic romance author, and I confess to being a daydreamer.

Personally, I don’t see anything wrong with letting the mind travel where it will, although my grade school teachers thought it was bad. Now it does me good, go figure. Often that is where I come up with ideas for the next story or series. I can be reading the paper, listening to the radio, or watching tv, and my mind wanders. It’s great and while much of it is useless, some sticks on the plot pad [the place I keep notes for story ideas]. “And She Scores” is a result of daydreaming and it offered me more than a stud for a hero.

For instance, I was working on a story to submit to All Romance in response to their call for 28 Days of Heart event, and it was all right, but it felt forced. Could be because it was about cooking and I don’t cook, but it wasn’t working for me. So, I took a break, and watched a pre-season football game. The game was all right and commentators were talking about various players. Great, so I’d know who would be playing and who wouldn’t, it was good. After a while, it stopped being interesting and my mind went traveling in another direction:

Gorgeous hero wearing tight football pants, shirtless and sexy, gets the girl, and they walk off into the sunset.

Fabulous idea, time to expand!

With a blink, I picked my laptop back up, and “And She Scores” was created. A football stud, returning from what could’ve been a career ending injury, is interviewed by the woman he loves but lost. Walking to conduct the interview everyone wants, her mind is set on doing the job, and she wouldn’t think about how he didn’t care for her as much as she’d thought. All common sense leaves her in a rush when she walks into the locker room, ready to do the interview, and he is shirtless, sweating from his workout. Add in the Santa Ana winds, raging wildfires, and the tension, and Southern California was ready to combust around them.

Interesting how our imaginations work. So, want to know what could possibly happen between these two, while at a major arena, with a ton of people around them? To find out, you’ll need to visit All Romance or OmniLit, and pick up a copy of “And She Scores”. And, to make this even more enjoyable, all proceeds go to benefit the American Heart Association.

Tilly Greene was born into the easy folds of a sleepy beach town and embraces the laid back mindset she grew up with. Later, she settled into a polar opposite lifestyle from the one she’d been living by moving abroad to further her education. Despite the frigid climate, the fast pace existence melded in, making her a person who is adaptable and enjoys experiencing the diversity surrounding her.

While traveling around the world with her husband, she researches and writes erotica and erotic romance novels in a variety of genres and sub-genres. Every day she looks forward to writing about women who are independent and confident, the men who love them, and their twisting passionate path to each other.

28 Days of Heart: Cat Johnson

First of all a huge thanks to Selena for inviting me to kick off this very special month. February is traditionally the month of love thanks to our celebration of Valentines Day. But this year, it is also the month of heart. What better time to combine the two? What am I talking about? All Romance eBooks’ 28 Days of Heart series to benefit the American Heart Association (AHA), that’s what.

During the month of February, ARe will release one new eBook for each of the 28 days with all proceeds going to help the AHA fight the number one killer of women—heart disease. These stories, generously donated by the authors, are available as individual eBooks EXCLUSIVELY at AllRomance.com and OmniLit.com.

What’s in store for you? Luckily I am uniquely qualified to tell you from first hand experience because besides being one of the contributing authors, I also had the pleasure of coordinating the project. That means I got a sneak peak, actually more accurately, I got to enjoy each and every word of every story during the process of putting this series together. You will not be disappointed because I can honestly say there is something for everyone. The stories span the genres from contemporary to ancient history, from multiple partners and same sex to romance on the sweeter side, from paranormal to Sci Fi. Each story was donated by best selling and up and coming authors from some of your favorite publishers, both NY and small press. In addition you can walk away knowing that you helped a good cause with your reading dollars.

If you want to learn more about the specifics of the month-long campaign visit https://www.allromanceebooks.com/contest.html . There are a lot of things happening in addition to the 28 Days of Heart novellas. ARe has a Go Red for Women Team set up on the AHA website that you can all join. No monetary donation is required; you just pledge to wear red on February 5th and encourage your friends to do the same to help raise awareness about heart disease in women. You can even go to the ARe Facebook Fanpage, post a picture of yourself wearing red, and one lucky poster will be chosen to win the entire series of novellas. ARe will also be sending out special heart-healthy editions of their Wildfire newsletter.

So that’s what this month is all about but I would be remiss if I neglected to tell you what my 28 Days story was about so here it goes…below is my blurb and, of course, a buy link for the story. (Hey, if you know me at all, you know I’m all about promo!) FYI—all the stories are available for preorder so even if the particular one you want hasn’t released yet, you can buy it now then wake up on release day and find it waiting for you in your library. How convenient is that?

Thanks again and don’t forget to Go Red for Women!
